FAQWhat is Kamana and How do I learn about it? Kamana is a Naturalist Training Program. You can learn about it and purchase it at Wilderness Awareness School I am an International Student. Can I still do Kamana? YES. We have a category set up specifically for International Kamana Students to inform them about how Kamana works for students outside of North America. You can link to it here. You can join Kamana.org whenever you are ready to start your Kamana journey. It is up to you to decide when the time is right. What happened to the Certification Option? The certification of your Kamana 2 work is now included with your membership to Kamana.org. When you complete a field pack we request that you send them in one at a time. You may send multiple field packs at once, but you will only receive one response if you do that. I am a new student. How do Student Services work? If you have read the 10 pages at the start of the Kamana Two Awareness Trail there are some changes. First off, there is no Certification option for student Student Services. Certification is included with your membership at Kamana.org. While moving through the program you can use kamana.org to help inspire you or to help troubleshoot any challenges you might be having. You have email access to instructors and you have the discussion forum to converse with other students. As you complete your work you will send in your work one field pack at a time and receive a personal response from the staff at Kamana.org. Before you send in your work you will need a Kamana Student Number. Once you sign up for Kamana.org you will be given instructions on how to get a student number and how to send in your work to receive a response. I am a former student. How do Student Services work now? There are not many changes for you. The short of it is that Kamana.org is now the hub for Student Services. There is no longer a Certification option; it is included with your subscription to Kamana.org! Once you sign up for Kamana.org you will still receive personal responses with your work you will now get access to lots of premium content like videos, audio lessons, access to your larger Kamana community, etc. We all go through different phases of doing and not doing Kamana. We hope this site will be a significant aid in helping move people through Kamana in a powerful way. I am in between levels and would like to take a break. What should I do? You can cancel your membership at Kamana.org whenever you need to. If you know you want to take a break in between levels(or during a level) then you can cancel and start back up again when you are ready. I joined and paid, but I do not see any content. I have no access! Please make sure that you have logged in first - Use the log in on the upper right of the home page. The JOIN NOW is not working. It goes to a blank page. Try restarting your PC. Also try a different browser or clear the cache on the browser. Do I need high-speed internet to use kamana.org? NO. While you probably can not use the videos (unless you want to wait awhile for them to load and watch them later), you will be able to download mp3's (doable, but slow) and use the rest of it no problem. So, dial up is fine. You can always cancel if it does not work for you. We now have the feature of downloading videos, so you can download and view to avoid any skipping if you have dial-up. Will my card be charged every month? How much is Kamana.org? It is $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year. My life is full. Can this work for me? 1) Are you on dial up? 2) If you are using a wifi connection, are you far from the base station? (try moving closer) 3) Are you sharing a lot of bandwidth with others in a home/office? If so (or on dial up), you can wait for the bar to go across the screen and the video to load before viewing OR download the video and watch videos on your PC or Mac. You might also try reseting your modem/router if this problem continues on your broadband internet. Another tip: For those on dial up that are having trouble getting the full video, if you are using Internet Explorer, clean out your cache by going to Tools on your menu bar, then Internet Options and delete your files. In Firefox go to Tools on the menu bar and then Clear Private Data. Sometimes the cache just gets a bit too full. You can download an mp4 file of most videos. This is the link on the lower right of every video player. Once you download it, double click it and it should open in most media players. This is a great solution for folks on dial-up who really want to watch a video. Can I still do Kamana if I don't have consistent internet access? YES. Please contact us or call the Wilderness Awareness School office 425 788 1301 about how to do this.
